ON Semi close plant in Slovakia
ON Semiconductor plans to close its manufacturing plant in Piestany, Slovakia.
Components400 people will be affected by this decision and the production line from the Slovakia plant will be transferred to other plants worldwide. The job cuts will start in the beginning of May 2009. On Semi’s back-end business operations will remain in Piestany, Slovakia. This unit employes 200 people. The design centre located in Bratislava will remain operating.
