Intel to oursource to Foxconn
Intel is rumoured to place ODM orders - instead of OEM-orders - with EMS-provider Foxconn.
EMSIntel declined to comment on industry speculation. It will continues to design and develop motherboards and cooperate with industry players, reports DigiTimes.
It is however rumoured, that another OEM-partner of Intel - Pegatron Technology - will not be considered when placing orders, the report continues. Source, cited in the DigiTimes report also indicated that 2-3 Tier-2 motherboard manufacturers might have to quit the market by the end of 2009.
