ZVEI: Further decline in German PCB market in March
March sales for German PCB manufacturers is around 1/3 below the figures from 2008. Overall, 1Q/2009 lost around 37% against the same period last year, reports the German Association of PCB industry and the ZVEI Association Electronic Components and Systems.
PCBOrder intake reached to about half of an average month. Compared to the previous March, March 2009 lost 45%, the first 3 months lost 54%.
This results in a book-to-Bill Ratio of 0.91. This indicator has been below 1 - for 5 consecutive months. The industry expects it will take some months before the situation improves.
Staff numbers have further declined; compared to February, figures declined by 1.8%; the 1Q saw 14% of jobs lost.
