iPhone 5 suppliers revealed

Asian media has revealed six components, PCB, and EMS suppliers for Apple's upcoming iPhone 5 device.

iPhone 5 is set to launch in the summer of 2011 by the earliest according to DigiTimes which is quoting a report from Chinese-language Economic Daily News. Foxconn Electronics replaces Japan based Foster as earphone producer. The reason is the strong yen making Foster a too expensive choice. Foxlink will produce earphone jack sockets. Compeq Manufacturing and Unimicron Technology will continue to supply HDI printed circuit boards and Apple has also added Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) due to shortage of HDI PCBs. Epistar might be supplying LED components after forming a strategic alliance with Toyoda Gosei, which provides Epistar access to Toyoda technologies, the report speculates.
